THE GROFF/ELLISON POLITICAL REPORT

Tied No More

Posted in Uncategorized by groffellison on May 12, 2008

Yesterday we ran a CNN story about how Sen. Barack Obama had tied Sen. Hillary Clinton in the race for superdelegates (http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/11/campaign.wrap/index.html) in the Democratic race for President.

Well scratch that, he just took the lead.

On the eve of what should be a blowout win for Clinton in West Virginia, the Obama campaign announced that four more superdelegates made their choice known today.  Rep. Tom Allen of Maine, Dolly Strazar of Hawaii, Sen. Daniel Akaka of Hawaii and Keith Roark of Idaho make 23 “supers” who have announced their support since Tuesday giving Obama 281 superdelegates overall according to his campaign.

Of that 23, three of them switched their support from Clinton.
